Births and Deaths

Births and deaths that have occurred since 1909 in Geauga County are registered with the Vital Statistics office of Geauga Public Health. Records for births and deaths were not kept in the State of Ohio until 1909. The Geauga County Public Library at 110 E. Park St., Chardon, Ohio 44024, houses records from 1867 to 1908. You can reach the genealogy department by calling (440) 285-7601.

Hours: 8:00am to 12:00pm & 1:00pm to 3:45pm 

 

How To Request A

Birth or Death Certificate

Certified copies of birth and death records are available in our office, by phone or mail for $25.00 each. Only cash or check is accepted at the office. Credit cards can be processed by phone.

To request a certificate email vitals@geaugacountyhealth.org to make an appointment or send your request with a self-addressed stamped envelope and a check or money order payable to Geauga Public Health and mail to:
